China Facts: Manufacturing is still 50% of GDP

China's governments goal with "CM2025", modelled on Germany's "Industry 4.0" scheme, is to upgrade the manufacturing capacity, with an eye toward boosting China's global position in manufacturing and production. IoT can be a major force for national economic growth in China, delivering gains up to US$1.8 trillion in cumulative GDP by 2030. The uplift to annual GDP in 2030 would be 1.3 percent in this case. Manufacturing plays an important role in China's economy, accounting for almost half of the country's GDP. If adopted successfully manufacturing industries would account for the highest proportion of the IoT's economic benefits, the economic value from IoT implementation could jump from US$196 bn to US$736 bn - a 276 percent increase*)
